Amp Up Your Profile

When you join LinkedIn, the first thing you do is to create your profile. The mistake many real estate agents make is they don’t take time to properly build their profile and they miss opportunities to meet prospects, reconnect with clients and network with other professionals.

Below is a screenshot of my profile pointing out the critical areas to consider when you are building your profile.

Amp Up Your LinkedIn Profile

Are You Linked In?

linkedin_logoLinkedIn.com is a professional online networking site.

Launched in May 2003, it was one of the early networking sites where professionals connect with other professionals. Presently, there are over 35 million people linked in.

If you haven’t joined LinkedIn, you should consider it to be one of the first networks for several reasons:

  1. You can connect with professionals, including loan officers, financial planners and other potential referral partners.
  2. You can add your blog to your profile. Whenever you post, it will appear on your LinkedIn site too so prospects who find your LinkedIn profile can follow your posts to your blog, where they learn about your expertise as a mortgage professional.
  3. You can join or start groups based on your interests. If you enjoy playing golf, you can join golf groups and learn to network with the people you meet to find more new clients.
  4. You can use LinkedIn to gather your testimonials from clients using the “recommendation” feature. As you collect the testimonials, you can copy them from your profile to your website so you add more credibility. It helps to promote what your clients say about you in both places.

And that’s only a quick snapshot of benefits. LinkedIn offers even more. Join it today and you’ll be surprised how many people you already know who are members. Start networking and you’ll fill your pipeline with prospects quickly.
